2014 AMCA SIDECAR CHAMPIONSHIP
For 2014 the AMCA have done their upmost in promoting the sport of Sidecarcross and shoving politics into the background as they make every effort in avoiding date clashes with the main ACU British Sidecarcross Championship. Every effort was also made in avoiding any clashes with the Clubmans Championship but unfortunately - with such a congested calendar clashes have been unavoidable on two of their dates - Landrake & Long Buckby.
With this in mind it is hoped that many ACU teams (MX and Enduro) will take up the opportunity of racing with the AMCA when they have a weekend free from racing with the ACU (as has happened in recent seasons). Likewise, the AMCA are also in favour of their members supporting and participating in ACU and BSMA sanctioned Sidecarcross events.
This year sees the return of some great amca sidecar tracks with the Championship visiting Long Lane, Boraston & Ceri (mid-Wales), the more southern Upavon & Brookthorpe tracks, as well as some of their more regular midlands based haunts. It certainly has the making of a great season of racing.

Dates for the 2014 AMCA Championship:

Round 1 - March 9th - Newport MXC - Long Lane (Sand Track) - (Reserve Date in event of cancellation - May 11th)
Round 2 - March 23rd - Cannock MXC - Lower Drayton Farm
Round 3 - April 6th - Upavon MXC - Upavon
Round 4 - May 4th - Cheltenham MXC - Brookthorpe
Round 5 - May 18th - Market Drayton MXC - Ollerton
Round 6 - June 1st - Druids MXC - Ceri
IMBA & IMBA Support - August 10th - Cwmwythig Hill, Rhayader
Round 7 - August 31st - Oakham MXC - Sproxton
Round 8 - September 21st - Midland Social - Track TBC
Round 9 - October 12th - Nantwich MXC - Ellesmere
Round 10 - October 26th - Teme Valley - Boraston

IMBA Qualification
IMBA Qualification has also been revamped dramatically for 2014 with three of the first five Rounds being used as qualification for a place in the GB Team to compete in this year's IMBA Sidecarcross Championship which kicks off with a trip to Oss, Holland on June 22nd. The 6 Round Series, which runs from June to September, visits France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Switzerland as well as the home GB Round in August at Rhayader, Mid-Wales.
Two places are up for grabs in the GB Team (possibly three) and they are open to new AMCA members for 2014 (i.e. - teams who did not hold an AMCA licence in 2013). This is a first for the AMCA as in previous years only teams who raced under the AMCA banner the previous year were allowed to ride in IMBA competition the following season. This means that riders can now compete for both ACU and AMCA Championships in 2014 with the added incentive of qualifying to race the IMBA Series as well!

General Information for Sidecar Teams
