There has been a fair amount of discussion elsewhere regarding entries for Desertmartin and more specifically what insurance is required so here is a summary of what is needed:
Any rider with an ACU licence will need to obtain start permission from the ACU office. As an addition to that permission riders will need to have personal accident insurance which can be obtained through the ACU office at a cost of £55 per person. This is on top of the entry fee that is payable to the North Armagh club.
Start permission will not be given until the insurance premium has been paid.
Hope this clarifies things.
Chris

Hi Chris!
If riders have insurance from elsewhere and the club will accept it, will the acu supply the start permission (obviously paid for?
Thanks
Polly

The answer to your question should be yes providing the insurance cover is identical in every respect but I doubt if that is the case so the answer will be NO. The main problem seems to be the cost of repatriation if needed. There was a case sometime last year when a solo rider was injured in mainland Europe and the repatriation costs exceeded £100K.
As I said before the acceptance of the PA insurance is the responsibility of the ACU not the N.Armagh club.
Hope this helps
