Endurance Sidecar Racing

I've been reading these forums for a few days. Clearly, there's a lot to digest. I do have a few questions, though. I have this crazy idea that my kids and I might take up Enduro sidecar racing. Will we be competitive? Probably not. But if I do it right, I might just have some darn good quality time with them. Thing is, I'm lacking some information.

Is there any amature sidecar racing in the Pacific NorthWest? I know there's some in Southern California... If I'm actually going to consider this crazy idea, I need some rules for building the machine.

I have to admit, watching the Hog Wild team testing in the sand gave me a serious itch, as it reminds me of my enduro racing days. However, I don't know exactly where to start. I haven't raced anything in 25 years. Is there a resource for sidecar building and racing in the west coast... not counting these forums, of course.
