Colin Dunkley - an update
I have been asked to come online on behalf of my brother to update you on Colin’s condition after his accident at the GP in Belgium last weekend. As some of you may know, Colin suffered a freak injury during the qualifying race. After losing an amount of blood (and still managing to qualify in the Last Chance race for the GP!) he was taken to hospital on Saturday evening where he had surgery on a severed artery in his groin and injury to his urethra.
Colin stubbornly discharged himself and drove home after the meeting and was subsequently taken to the Royal Bournemouth where he has been since Monday afternoon. The latest update I can give is that he is still in the hospital and is still losing blood. They are continuing to keep him under observation and carry out a number of tests and scans.
He has however, asked that I come onto the forum and to say a big ’Thank-you’ to everyone for their offers of help while Colin and my parents were in Belgium and for the subsequent calls and messages since he got back to England. We would also like to say a very big ’thank-you’ to Henk and his team who were and continue to be a great support at a difficult time.
I will endeavour to pass on any messages to Colin, who as you can imagine, isn’t in the greatest of spirits at this moment. Myself or Colin (Bongo) will update you all when we have any further news.

I have just spoken to Colin's mother today 21st and the latest update I can give is that he is still in the hospital and they are continuing to keep him under observation and carry out a number of tests and scans on him.
He has no idea when he will get discharged.
This must be sending Colin mad as the tea lady only come's round twice a day !
Get well soon Colin.
