Round 5-AMA Western National Sidecar MX Series-Results

For all the teams....

Round 5 of the AMA Western National Sidecar MX Championship ran on Saturday, June 26th at Glen Helen Raceway Park in San Bernardino, CA. Just as in years past, we ran in conjunction with the Vintage Iron World Championships and were rewarded with a well prepared track and some spectacular vintage bikes to look at as you wandered through the pits.

This round of the series had the best turnout of any round this year, with eight Teams signed up, including one Heavyweight Team. It was a great mix of the AMA D-37 GP Teams and the AMA MX Series regulars and it provided some good racing for all in attendance. The Team of Mike Burns Jr. & Matt Sidoti put together two solid moto finishes to take the overall win on the day. Victor Palfreyman & Perry Melillo took the first moto win but a mechanical gremlin took them out of moto 2. Richard & Rick Myers also put together two solid finishes to take the third spot overall. It was great to have everyone out for this round of the series.

1. Harvey Bohman/Glenn Sibley (Wasp-Yamaha) (1,1)


The 6th Round of the series is scheduled for Saturday, September 18th at Two-Rivers MX in Milliken, CO. This round will be run in conjunction with an AHRMA Post-Vintage National event.
